Slydial: Go directly to voicemail, do not pass go.
0 comments Posted by Jake at Tuesday, October 21, 2008Call someone and have the call go straight to voice mail - their phone will not notify them of an incoming or missed call, just of the voice message. Although you can call from a land line or a cell, this will only work when calling a cell phone.

Calvin and Jobs: Much better than peeing on car logos
0 comments Posted by Jake at Tuesday, August 26, 2008This is from a recent MAD Magazine, but finding a lot of traction online. Calvin and Hobbes comics, only with Hobbes replaced by Steve Jobs, who philosophizes with Calvin about how Moe the bully really isn't that bad, about marketing, and how releasing dazzling new Apple products is the best way to avoid censure over a back-dated stock options scandal. An inanimate Steve Jobs doll turns out to be really cute, too. An excellent recreation of the look and feel of Calvin and Hobbes.

Get nutrition information through text messaging

Diet.com has a great service: by texting 'DIET1' (34381) with a restaurant name and menu item, you can get the specific nutrition information for that item. The results are very fast, and accurate.

inumbr.com creates a temporary phone number (SLC 801 area code available, along with about 25 other cities) that you can give out if you're selling something online, or meeting people at clubs, etc.
Number can be set to expire after an hour, a day, a week, or a month
The basic portion requires nothing but your phone number - no logins or accounts
Can set up a second phone number that they will send calls to if the first number is unavailable.
The provided number does have an extension and the caller has to leave a short clip announcing who they are.
